Nightingales are famous for the power and beauty of their song and for singing through the night. This fascinating album of nightingale recordings was made in woods near Glapthorn and Southwick in Northamptonshire. It starts with the evening chorus, then as night falls groups of nightingales and solo birds continue with a remarkable range of songs and calls. Deep in the night their singing slows – the only other sounds are owls and the barks of muntjac deer. At dawn the pace quickens, and nightingales are once again singing in the full glory of a woodland dawn chorus. (Total length 60 minutes)
