- 1 (27.55) 5.00 am, 20 April. Glapthorn Cow Pasture. Blackbirds and thrushes, with a wren close by. In the middle of the wood among blackthorn thickets, looking towards an open area of ash trees.
- 2 (5.15) 4.30 am, 11 May. Glapthorn Cow Pasture. Blackbird and blackcap in the foreground, with a distant cuckoo. Just inside the wood, in a thicket with mature oaks behind.
- 3 (7.34) 5.20 am, 25 May. Southwick. Chorus of woodpigeons, blackbirds and thrushes. On the footpath from Southwick to Woodnewton, among mixed conifers and deciduous trees.
- 4 (24.08) 4.50 am, 1 June. Southwick. Nightingale close by, cuckoo early on, chiffchaff overhead. In a forest clearing with thinned-out oaks, thorn scrub and dog roses.
